Ticket-granting ticket. In Kerberos, a credential presented to the ticket-granting server in order to obtain a ticket. The ticket can then be used to gain access to a secure server. The use of TGTs and tickets enable the single signon feature, whereby the user need authenticate only once, after which they can access additional services without reauthenticating (by reentering their password, for example).
