Golkar (Partai Golongan Karya), founded in 1964, is one of the oldest and biggest political party in Indonesia. Its main ideology is the Pancasila, the 5 philosophical foundation of Indonesia. Golkar was the ruling party from 1966 to 1999, under Suharto's New Order regime (1966-98) and the brief presidency of B. J. Habibie (1998-99). Since 2004 it has been under coalition with the current President SBY.
