oxyhydrogen blowpipe

A blowpipe in which hydrogen is burned in oxygen. Streams of the two gases in the proportion to form water are forced under pressure from separate reservoirs, and issue together from a jet, igniting just as they issue. The temperature produced which has been estimated at 5,000 degrees F (2,760 degrees C), is sufficient to fuse very refractory substances.
