planning target volume
(PTV) defines a volume consisting of the actual tumour tissue (GTV), the Clinical Target Volume (CTV), the Internal Target Volume (ITV) plus an additional margin. The dose can be prescibed to this volume. Volume prescribed for treatment by the physician.
